Henning and Soren S. Kudsk. Active pallbearers were Lynn Kingman, Louis M. Gnam, Arthur A. Neu, Daryl Winker, John Drees Jr., Harry Rose, H.A. Matt and J.P. Meinhardt. Burial was in the Carroll City Cemetery, where military rites were conducted by Maurice Dunn Post No. 7, American Legion, under direction of Harold Kienapfel.

Mr. Selzer, retired Carroll businessman, died at 12:45 p.m. Friday, July 5, at University Hospitals, Iowa City, where he had undergone surgery earlier that day. He is survived by one sister, Mayme C. Selzer, with whom he lived in a recently built home at 110 East Bluff Street. He was born Nov. 20, 1888, at Carroll, a son of George and Christina Stumpf Selzer. For many years he was associated with his father in the automobile business here. Their first location was on West Fifth Street where the Burns building is now located. They had the agency for Franklin and Dodge automobiles, later adding Buicks. George Selzer built the garage building at the corner of Third and Main Streets now occupied by Peters Brothers, and the two were engaged then in the Dodge business entirely.

During World War I, Mr. Selzer served in the U.S. Army in France as a vehicle driver for officers. He re-entered business with his father following his discharge from the Army, and retired about the time of his father's death. He was also an extensive real estate holder. Mr. Selzer was a member of Maurice Dunn Post No. 7, American Legion; the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 1637; and Za-Ga-Zig Temple of the Shrine. The Elks memorial service was given at the funeral home Sunday night.

In earlier years, Mr. Selzer was an expert trap and skeet shooter, and at one time gained the championship for that skill in Florida, where he and his sister spent the winters for many years, with the exception of the past winter. He was a vice president and member of the board of directors of the Carroll County State Bank, having succeeded his father in both positions. The bank closed from 10:30 until noon Monday in respect to his memory.
