Sept 5, 1952 - Carroll Daily Times - Mrs. Fred H. Culbertson of Carroll died about 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon in St. Mary's Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., where she had been taken nearly two weeks ago from the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Beste, in St. Charles, Mo. She would have been 69 years old Saturday, Sept. 6. Mrs. Culbertson, who had been in ill health for several years, had gone to the Beste home in May. Mr. Culbertson had joined her there eight weeks ago.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Huffman Funeral Home here. The Rev. C.B. Bradshaw, vicar of Trinity Episcopal church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Carroll city cemetery. The body was brought to the funeral home here today. Mr. Culbertson will return home Saturday, accompanying Mr. and Mrs. Beste.
Mrs. Culbertson, the former Marian Park, was a daughter of David H. and Edith C. Vette Park, Carroll pioneers. She was born Sept. 6, 1883 in Carroll. After her graduation from high school here in 1902, she completed her education at Urbana college, Urbana, Ohio. Later, she taught fifth grade in the Carroll public school system for a few years. Her marriage to Mr. Culbertson took place June 16, 1909, at the Park family home.
Surviving with her husband are her daughter. Mrs. Beste (Helen Adelaide), St. Charles, Mo.; a son. Frederick P. Culbertson, Carroll; her mother, Mrs. E.C. Park, Carroll; and two grandchildren, Barbara Ann and Robert Culbertson Beste.
Mrs. Culbertson's father died in 1910. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Fairy Belle, in infancy, and Mrs. Merton L. (Helen) Holley.
