Sept 16, 1946 - Carroll Times - Mrs. Merton L. Holley of Ontario, Calif., the former Miss Helen Park of Carroll, succumbed yesterday afternoon at Ontario. Her death occurred a few days after she suffered a stroke from which she failed to regain consciousness. Mrs. Holley was 60 years old. The body is being brought back to Carroll for funeral services and burial, arriving here Wednesday night. Rites are to be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Huffman Funeral home, with the Rev. John E. Wheatley, minister of the First Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in the Carroll cemetery.

Mrs. Holley, daughter of Mrs. Edith C. Park and the late David H. Park, Carroll pioneers, was born in Carroll August 5, 1886.

Besides her husband, to whom she was married in Carroll March 15, 1916, she leaves one son, David P. of Upland, Calif., her mother and one sister, Mrs. F.H. Culbertson, (Marian) of Carroll, a niece, Mrs. Robert Beste of St. Charles, Mo., and a nephew, Frederick Culbertson of Carroll.
