April 11, 1911 - Carroll Sentinel - The body of Mrs. Daniel Wenck was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon in the city cemetery. The funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in this city. She had been in poor health but a short time and death was due to a complication of diseases following a severe attack of the grippe.

The deceased was born in Germany and was united in marriage to Daniel Wenck in 1867 and they came to America shorlty afterward and in 1877 they located in Sheridan township, this county where they lived the greatet portion of the time since having removed to this city a few years previously.

To this union were born ten children now living and are: Sophia, Lena, and Anna of Carroll; Mrs. D. Jurgens, Mrs. A.W. Rocksten, Mrs. G.A. Steigerwalt, John, Dan, and Frank of Glidden, and Charles of Omaha.

The deceased was a kind, patient, Christian woman endowed with all the virtues of noble womanhood. Her death removes a loving mother and faithful wife from our community and one who was greatly prized by those who had the pleasure of her intimate acquaintance. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of many friends in their sorrow.
