Oct 28, 1992 - Carroll Daily Times - Walter Henry Rose, 88, of Carroll died Monday, Oct. 26, 1992, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Pastor Charles Haake officiating. Burial will be in Carroll City Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Ivan Wurr, Wayne Witt, Harvey Fleshner, Maurice Dion, Don Petersen, and Ray Bendt. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where there will be a prayer service at 7:30 that evening.

Mr. Rose was born May 28, 1904, on a farm in Carroll County, a son of August and Bertha Backes Rose. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1924. On March 20, 1924, he was married to Violette Holley at Minneapolis, Minn. He worked for many years in the assessor's office in the Carroll County Courthouse.

He is survived by his wife, Violette, of Carroll; two daughters, Virginia Solon and her husband, Lindy, of Lockport, Illinois, and Vicki Barth and her husband, Roger, of Chaska, Minn.; one son, Don Rose and his wife, Diane, of Campbell, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harry Rose.
