Nov 4, 1982 - Carroll Daily Times - Cedar Falls - Mrs. Joy Lockwood, 91, of 1933 Tremont, Cedar Falls, a former resident of Carroll, died Friday, October 29, at Sartori Memorial Hospital. A memorial service was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls with the Rev. Paul H. Heath officiating. Burial was in the Carroll cemetery.
Mrs. Lockwood is survived by two sons: George Miner, White Plains, N.Y., and Paul Miner, Baltimore, MD.; a stepson, Homer Lockwood, Cedar Falls; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jerry (Betty) McConnell, Sun City, Ariz.; two sisters: Mrs. Catherine Kahley, Sonoma, Calif., and Mrs. DeEtta Nye, Audubon; three grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, a great grandchild, and eight step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and a brother Henry.
Mrs. Lockwood was born Joy W. Pfiester near Audubon on April 9, 1891, a daughter of George and Kathrine Rentfle Pfiester. She moved with her family to Carroll where she graduated from Carroll High School. On June 16, 1914, she was married to Paul S. Miner in Carroll. They moved in 1927 to Cedar Falls and he died in 1937.
On November 13, 1955, she was married to Floyd H. Lockwood in Cedar Falls. He died in 1973. She was a member of the Cedar Falls United Methodist church.
