August 6, 1962 - Carroll Daily Times - Mrs. John L. (Laura Leida) Miner, 59, El Centro, Calif., formerly of Carroll, died at El Centro Saturday, Aug. 4, following a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Huffman Funeral Home in Carroll by the Rev. Duane E. Heap, pastor of the Glidden Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery. The body will arrive in Carroll early Wednesday morning.

Mrs. Miner was born May 2, 1903, in Carroll County, a daughter of Delbert and Effie Vaughan. She received her education in the Coon Rapids schools. Her marriage to John L. Miner took place on May 17, 1923 and they lived in Carroll until moving to El Centro about 17 years ago. She was a member of First Methodist Church, Carroll.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Ward (Betty) Fisher, Glidden, and Mrs. Fred (Shirley) Brodie, West Chicago, Illinois; 14 grandchildren; and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Fred (Faye) Shirbroun, Coon Rapids; Mrs. Leon (Rose) Kious, Scranton; Mrs. Eunice Clennon, Modesta, Calif.; Mrs. Arthur Johnson, Walter Vaughan and Waite Vaughan, Rockford, Illinois; and Gilbert Vaughan, Coon Rapids.

Her parents and one brother, Lyle Vaughan, preceded Mrs. Miner in death.
