George Fiscus 1846-1924

August 21, 1924 - Carroll Times - George Fiscus passed away at his home Saturday morning at 4 o'clock after being in failing health for several years. Mr. Fiscus was born in Indiana March 5, 1846. His boyhood years were spent in that place. His marriage to Miss Nancy Steinberger took place November 19, 1866. For the last 36 years their home has been in this city. Mr. Fiscus was a hard-working man, devoted to his home and his family.

Of the ten children born to Mr. and Mrs. Fiscus, eight survive, namely: John Fiscus of Milwaukee, Mrs. Frank Howard and Mrs. Carpenter of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Charles Hornstine of Beardsley, Minn.; Mrs. B.H. Reiff, Albert Fiscus, Earnest Fiscus and Ursel Fiscus of Carroll. He is also survived by his wife and three brothers, one residing in Manning, another in Alma, Neb., and the third in California.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. W.H. Parker, were held at the Delaplane funeral parlors Monday afternoon and were attended by the sorrowing family and close friends of the family. Interment was made in the Carroll cemetery.
