Nov 26, 1943 - Carroll Times - W.F. Dunn, 83, retired conductor for the Chicago & North Western Railway Company, and a former Carroll resident, died at noon today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.T. Laughlin (Blanche), in Chicago. He had been in ill health for some time. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Mr. Dunn was the father of Maurice Dunn, who lost his life in World War I and for whom the local post of the American Legion is named.

His surviving children are: Miss Frances Dunn of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. N.M. Mackey (Mabel), Lake Okoboji; Mrs. Laughlin, above mentioned;, and George Dunn.

Nov 29, 1943 - Carroll Times - Committal services were held at the Carroll cemetery at 12:30 this noon for W.F. Dunn, retired Chicago and North Western railway conductor, who died Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.T. Laughlin, in Chicago. The Rev. Mr. McDade, minister of the Methodist Church at Ogden, officiated at the graveside service. Rites had been held at 10 o'clock this morning at the Welin Chapel in Boone, where the Masonic service was given.

Members of the immediate family present at the committal services here were Mrs. McLaughlin (Blanche), her daughter, Mrs. Chris Yager, both of Chicago; Mr. Dunn's son. George W„ also of Chicago, and son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. N. M. Mackey (Mabel), of Lake Okoboji.
