Jan 17, 1890 - Carroll Sentinel - Two or three weeks ago T. D. Geugel started on a trip east and as chronicled in THE SENTINEL fell in such a manner to break his leg. He was brought to his home here and for some time seemed on a fair way of recovery, but other complications appeared, he grew rapidly worse and Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 died, Brights disease of the kidneys being the immediate cause of his death.

The funeral services will be held today. Mr. Guegel was sixty nine years old and his friends feared when they heard of his accident, that he would not recover. He had many friends in this vicinity, and they, as well as his large family (he leaves a wife and nine children) mourn his demise. He was a large owner of Carroll county real estate, having in the neighborhood of a thousand acres of land in the county. THE SENTINEL condoles with the bereaved ones in their sad affliction.
