Oct 19, 1954 - Carroll Daily Times - Dr. Dawson C. Murdock, 82, 1316 South Thirty-Third Street, Omaha, formerly of Carroll, died in an Omaha hospital Monday. A veterinarian, he had been in Federal service more than 46 years. Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Burket Chapel in Omaha. Burial will be at Carroll. The body will arrive in Carroll Thursday morning and will be taken to the Huffman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery, where graveside services will be conducted by the Rev. C. Hugo Orf, minister of the Carroll Methodist Church, at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Dr. Murdock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Murdock, Carroll pioneers, was a graduate of Carroll High School. He was born in Brampton, Canada. He was graduated from Chicago Veterinary College. Dr. Murdock began work for the Bureau of Animal Industry in 1906 and retired in 1942. Approximately the first half of his service was spent in animal disease eradication work in the South, where he helped combat, the cattle tick. He also had several assignments in hoof and mouth disease work. He was well known in inspection activities at Omaha.

Dr. Murdock is survived by his wife, Eda, and a daughter, Mrs. Vi Madsen, both of Omaha; sister-in-law, Grace Kallenberg, Omaha, and grandson, David Madsen. He was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Elks Lodge No. 1817.
