Dec 17, 1914 - Carroll Times - Chris Boje, a resident of the county for more than thirty years, died Monday evening at his home on North West street, the cause of death being paralysis. Mr. Boji had been sick for about three weeks before his death but the stroke of paralysis, which brought the fatal termination to his illness was on Sunday morning the day preceding his death. For the past four years he has been subject to heart trouble, which doubtless contributed to the result.

Mr. Boje was born at Balz, Sternberg, Mecklenberg, Schwerin, Germany, September 18, 1846, and was therefore 68 years, two months, and 26 days old at the time of his death. He came to this country in early life and was married March 3, 1876, to Miss Louisa Fecar, who survives him with five children, all of whom are married with the exception of Chris, who remains at the parental home. The others are Frank, Harry and Albert Boje, and Anna, now Mrs. Will Kurth.

The family came to Carroll county 31 years ago last March and settled on a farm in Sheridan township, where they lived until they moved to Carroll seven years ago, where they have since made their home. The deceased was a member of the Lutheran church and one who had the esteem and respect of those who knew him as a worthy man and a good neighbor. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. Mr. Enenbach, of Glidden.
