July 21, 1942 - Carroll Times - Carl H Harms, 61, died at 9:10 a. m. today at the St. Anthony Hospital after a lingering illness. He had been ill the past year and in the hospital since July 13. The body is resting at the Huffman Funeral Home until the time of the rites. Services are to be at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the funeral home, with the Rev. R. Herrmann, pastor of the Lidderdale Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in East Liberty cemetery.

Mr. Harms, a son of Eilert and Anke Hinricks Harms, was born in Sheridan township Dec, 18, 1880. He was married to Wilda Longman in Omaha, Neb., in 1908. For some time after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Harms farmed. Later on Mr. Harms took up tile ditching in this county. He had lived in Carroll for the last ten years, the family home being on North Carroll street.

Surviving with his wife are the following children: Mrs. Viola Mantz, Lanesboro; George Harms and Lavern Harms, Carroll: Herman, Paul, John and Carl Harms, Lanesboro. His wife is ill in the Mantz home at Lanesboro. He also leaves six grandchildren, two brothers, John Harms, of Forbes, N. D., and George B. J Harms, Cedar Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Sophia Ford, Carroll, and, one half-brother, Henry Jenssen, Auburn.

A sister, Mrs. George D. Jacobs of Carroll, preceded him in death. Mr. Harms was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church.
