Jan 19, 1953 - Carroll Daily Times - Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Sharp Funeral home here for Joe C. Moore, 53, formerly of Lidderdale, who was killed in an automobile accident on the outskirts of Lusk, Wyo., Saturday evening. According to Coroner Earl Peet, Mr. Moore was killed instantly when he lost control of his car. The body will arrive here Tuesday evening and be taken to the funeral home. The Rev. C. Hugo Orf, minister of the Carroll Methodist Church, will officiate at the rites. Burial will be in East Liberty cemetery northeast of Lidderdale.

Mr. Moore was born Feb. 22, 1899, in Sheridan Township, Carroll County. He was married to Geraldine Gotsch of Lidderdale March 26, 1919, in Carroll. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in the vicinity of Lidderdale until 1931. At that time Mr. Moore left for the west. He had been doing construction work in Montana and Wyoming. He is a veteran of World War II.

Surviving with his widow, who lives at Lidderdale, are five children: Vernon Moore, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Merle (Donna) Schleisman, Gridley, Illinois; Mrs. Ralph (Jean) Neppel, Des Moines; Richard and Daryle Moore Lidderdale; six grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Moore, Carroll, and John Moore, Minburn, and a half brother, Merle Moore, Irwin. One brother and two sisters are deceased.
