July 22, 1891 - Carroll Sentinel - John O'Donnell, a pioneer of Carroll county, died at his home near Maple River on July 14, aged 68 years. Deceased was a native of Ireland.

He came to Carroll county in 1864 and has been a constant resident of this vicinity ever since. The funeral occurred Wednesday and the remains now rest in St. Joseph's cemetery in Carroll. A wife and ten children are left to mourn a fond father and loving husband.
