March 12, 1959 - Carroll Daily Times - William (Bill) Bodenschatz, 50, livestock buyer, died at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Hospital, where he had been admitted at 5:45 p.m. March 10, Funeral arrangements are pending at the Sharp Funeral Home.

Mr. and Mrs. Bodenschatz and family moved to Carroll from Guttenberg in 1943. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. M.J. (Marlene) Dirkx, Carroll; one son, John Bodenschatz, a senior in Carroll High School; one grandchild; two brothers and two sisters in Germany. (DETAILS in Obituary Section).

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Sharp Funeral Home for William (Bill) Bodenschatz, 50, who died at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony Hospital. He had been admitted to the hospital at 5:45 p.m. March 10. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Bodenschatz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Bodenschatz, was born Feb. 10, 1909, in Germany. Coming to the United States in 1926, he located with relatives in the vicinity of Jefferson City, Mo. Later, he moved to Guttenberg, Iowa, where he was married to Letha Overbeck Oct. 11, 1938. Mr. and Mrs. Bodenschatz and family moved to Carroll from Guttenberg in 1943. Mr. Bodenschatz was associated with the Western Buyers here until four years ago when he became an independent livestock buyer, presently in business at Ralston.

Survivors include two children, Mrs. M.J. (Marlene) Dirkx, Carroll; and John Bodenschatz, a senior in Carroll High School; one grandchild; two brothers and two sisters in Germany.
