Nov 19, 1965 - Carroll Daily Times - Funeral services have been set for 11 a.m. Saturday at First Methodist Church for Clifford J. Bell, 75, who died at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Veterans Hospital in Omaha after a short illness. The body will be taken from the Huffman Funeral home at 9 a.m. prior to the service, and the casket will not be opened after the service. The Rev. Dr. Paul M. Diebterich, pastor, will officiate at the church and for committal in Carroll Cemetery. Masonic rites by Charity Lodge of Coon Rapids, with Cliff Mason of Westside as orator, will be conducted Friday night at the funeral home. Military graveside rites will be in charge of Maurice Dunn Post, American Legion.

Mr. Bell was born July 15, 1890, at Coon Rapids, the son of Mabel Davis Bell and John Bell. He was married in 1919 to Ethel Dankel in the Presbyterian Church in Carroll. They had lived here since 1942.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, James Dean Bell of Greenville, Ala., and Jerry Bell of Carroll; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Betty) Robson of Iowa Falls; four sisters, Mrs. John (Faye) Anderson, Mrs. Francis (Clara) Shirbroun, and Mrs. Orville (Bonnie) South, all of Coon Rapids, and Mrs. Clifford (Villah) Tuel of Bayard, and seven grandchildren.

A brother Avery and a sister Margaret are deceased.

He was educated in the Coon Rapids schools, and had been a mechanic for over 50 years. His last employment was with International Harvester until his retirement in 1956. He was a member of First Methodist Church in Carroll; Charity Lodge of the Masonic Order in Coon Rapids; a charter member of Maurice Dunn Post, American Legion in Carroll; the Carroll Methodist Men, and was a veteran of World War I.
