June 5, 2008 - Carroll Daily Times - LuLu DeVota "Dee" Russell, 77, of Altoona and formerly of Carroll Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at her home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with the Rev. Michael Fitzsimmons of First Presbyterian Church in Carroll officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Carroll Cemetery.

A daughter of Virgil H. and E. Maude (Butler) Christianson, she was born Jan. 22, 1931, at Carroll. She and Floyd R. Russell were married July 31, 1950.

Survivors include two daughters: Kittie Farnsworth and special friend Emmett "Chip" Chapin of Altoona and Roberta "Berdy" Russell of Carroll; a son, Leo Russell, and his wife, LaVonne, of Lake Mills; a brother, Virgil "Termite" Christiansen, and his wife, Cathy, of Carroll; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Floyd Allen; a brother, Harold Christiansen; and two sisters: Belma Christianson and Norma Lindgren.
