March 29, 1996 - Carroll Times - Madge Winter Hanby, 88, of Conyers, Ga., and formerly of Carroll, died Thursday, March 28, 1996, following a brief illness. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday March 30, 1996, at the Carroll City Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Cameron II of Glidden Presbyterian Church in Glidden officiating. Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll is handling arrangements.

She was born April 12, 1907, in Coon Valley Township of Sac County, a daughter of Ray and Gracy (Oldfield) Nichols. She grew up in Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School.

She married Albert J. Winter Nov. 21, 1932, at Carroll. He died in 1955. She then married Lorimer Hanby on Sept. 4, 1968, at Omaha, Neb. Mrs. Hanby was a homemaker. Her husband died in 1982, and she had been living with a nephew in Conyers.

Survivors include two nephews: Dennis Harry and his wife, Joann, of Conyers and Victor Harry of San Diego, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a sister, Maxine Harry; and two brothers: Eddie and Harry Nichols.
