William Peter Anderson

William Peter Anderson was born at Oldenburg, Holstein, Germany, on September 26, 1847, and died at the home of his son on January 22, 1924, at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 27 days.

While in his youth he emigrated with his parents to America settling at Grand Mound, Clinton county, Ia.

He was married to Margaret Huber in 1871. In 1874 they moved to Arcadia, remaining one year and then they moved back to Grand Mound. In 1880 they moved back, settling on a farm four and a half miles northeast of Arcadia, where they remained until 1904. They then moved to Arcadia where they resided until the death of his wife on June 10, 1914. He made his home alone until about a year ago when he moved to his son's home where he died after an illness of about a week. He leaves to mourn his death three children, one son and two daughters, namely: Mrs. William H. Meinke, of Friend, Neb., Alfred Anderson and Mrs. George Grimsman, both of Arcadia. He also leaves to mourn one sister, Mrs. William Fellner, and six grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. William Meinke, of Friend, Neb., Alfred Meggers, of Denison, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sievers and son, of Charter Oak, Emil Fellner, of Grand Mound, and William Peters, of Sutherland, came to attend the funeral which was held at the home of his son. The remains were interred in the Arcadia cemetery.
