Peter Vanderloo Dies Yesterday At Coon Rapids

Long Time Resident of Carroll County Ill Only a Few Days

Coon Rapids (Special) -- Peter Vanderloo, 83, for 53 years a resident of Coon Rapids, died here Thursday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dan Welsh. he had been feeling poorly for only a few days.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at the Annunciation church, the Rev. Father B. H. Loeffelholz officiating. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Vanderloo came to Coon Rapids in 1881 directly from his birth place in Holland. He was employed with the building of the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul railroad, and later took a position as laborer in the local yard of the Joyce Lumber company. In a few years Mr. Vanderloo became manager of the yard, which position he held for 40 years until his retirement from active business ten years ago.

His wife preceded him in death several years. Children who survive are Lee Vanderloo of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Bertha Hammerslaw, of Council Bluffs, Jake Vanderloo of Sioux City, Mrs. Mary Bengfort of Perry, Dr. V. B. Vanderloo of Dubuque, Mrs. Dan Walsh and Arnold Vanderloo of Coon Rapids.
