MARY ROSONKE SCHWEICKERT

Mass of the Christian burial for Mary Rosonke Schweickert of Carroll will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 1996, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll.

Mrs. Schweickert, 84, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 1996, at Carroll Manor, her home the last two years.

The Rev. Vince Rosonke and the Rev. Steve McLoud will officiate the Mass. Lector will be Karen Pickhinke. Gift bearers will be grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be Steve Rosonke, Pete Rosonke, Wayne Rosonke, Dan Rosonke, Joe Herbers and Jim Herbers.

Burial will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery in Mount Carmel.

Friends will call after 2:30 p.m., the Legion of Mary will recite a rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Twit Funeral Home in Carroll.

She was born Sept. 20, 1911, at Mount Carmel, a daughter of Albert and Mary T. (Wernimont) Reiling, and educated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. She was active in church ministry at Mount Carmel.

She and Leo S. Rosonke were married Feb. 21, 1933, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Mr. Rosonke died in 1944.

She and Mark Schweickert were married in 1968 in Springville, N.Y.

Mrs. Schweickert was a homemaker.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Legion of Mary.

Survivors include five children: Brother Paul Rosonke of the Congregation of Holy Cross in San Antonio, Texas, Dolores Herbers of Manning, Virgil Rosonke and his wife, Alvera, of Manning, Sister Rose Zita Rosonke of the Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters in Hagerman, N.M., and Leon Rosonke of Carroll; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four sisters in-law: Catherine Reiling, Rose Schwickerath, Emma Eltgroth and Sister Agnesine Rosonke; and children and other relatives of her second husband, Mr. Schweickert.

Mrs. Schweickert was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Leo Rosonke; her second husband, Mark Schweickert, in 1990; seven brothers: William, John, Wendy, Theodore, Frank, Gregor and Anthony Reiling; and four sisters: Clara Schelle, Anna Reiling, Caroline Underberg and Regina Gehling.
