THEODORE A. REILING

MAPLE RIVER - Theodore A. Reiling, 77, of Maple River died at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, after several months' illness. He was a retired farmer.

Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Francis of Assisi Church here by the Rev. Richard Birdsall. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at the Twit Funeral Home in Carroll. The rosary will be recited Monday at 3 and 8 p.m., followed by a scriptural prayer service at 8:45.

Mr; Reiling, son of Albert and Mary Wernimont Reiling, was born in Carroll March 14, 1898, and was educated at Mt. Carmel. His marriage to Anna Lamberty took place at Halbur Oct. 6, 1925, with the late Rev. Bernard Schilmoeller officiating. He farmed in the Mt. Carmel and Maple River area until retiring about 12 years ago. Mr. Reiling was well-known for his trained cow, "Cookie", that performed at fairs in Iowa and surrounding states.

He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Maple River.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Ray of Coon Rapids and Don of Storm Lake; four daughters, Mrs. Albert (Darlene) Moore of Storm Lake, Mrs. Gene (Dorothy) Dales of Manning, Mrs. Ray (Agnes) Pottebaum of Anita a n d Mrs. Raymond (Rosemary) Huegerich of Carroll; 28 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Ed Underberg of Springville, N.Y., and Mrs. Mary Rosonke of Carroll.

Mr. Reiling was preceded by an infant son, Ronald; a grandson, six brothers and three sisters.
