Mrs. CLARENCE MASCHING

Mrs. Clarence (Catherine) Masching. 69. of Carroll died at 2:30 p.m. Monday. Nov. 25. at St. Anthony Regional Hospital, where she had been a patient for one day.

Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Church by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Leo Lenz. V.F.

Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of the Sharp Funeral Home of Carroll, where friends may call starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday and on Thursday at 3 p.m. by the Legion of Mary, and at 8 and 8:45p.m.

Mrs. Masching was a lifelong resident of Carroll County . A daughter of Herman Sr. and Ella Gehling she was born at Carroll July 16. 1905. Her marriage to the late Mr. Masching took place at SS. Peter and Paul Church here Jan.14, 1927, with the Rev. Anthony Ocken officiating.

The Maschings made their home on a farm three miles north of Roselle until 1932.

They moved then to another farm 2 1/2 miles south of Carroll, where they lived until retiring in 1960 and moving to 412 East Bluff street, Mrs. Masching's present home. Mr. Masching died March 26, 1970.

Mrs. Masching is survived by ten children , including Louis, Edwin, Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Wieland, Mrs. Paul (Lorraine) Wieland. Mrs. Orville (Edna) Ludwig. Mrs. James (Marilyn Pudenz and James, all of Carroll, Mrs. Leo (Rosemary) Schon of Glidden, Donald of Breda and Mrs. Charles (Lois Neumayer of Vancouver, Wash.; also 47 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. James (Cecilia) Houlihan of Carroll.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two infant children, four brothers, and three sisters.

Mrs. Masching was a member of Holy Spirit Church and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary.
