COON RAPIDS—Funeral services for Wm. E . Reiling, 62, Coon Rapids, who was killed in a traffic accident yesterday will be held at Annunciation church at 9 a.m Thursday. Burial will be in the Coon Rapids cemetery.

Mr. Reiling was killed instantly when struck by a car driven by Edwin A. Smith of Des Moines four miles west of Coon Rapids on Highway 141 about 1:30 p.m. yesterday, Sheriff Al Thorup reported.

It was the third traffic fatality in Carroll county this year and the first on the new Dedham-Coon Rapids highway.

The body will remain at the Coder-Anderson Funeral home until the day of the service. The rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. today and Wednesday.

Survivors include four children, Joe and Bertha, at home; Leo Coon Rapids, and Sr. Eucharia (Teresa ) St. Rose convent, La Crosse, Wis.; four sisters, Mrs. Ed (Caroline) Underberg, Springville , N. Y.; Mrs. Joe (Clara) Schelle, Breda; Mrs. Henry (Regina) Gehllng, Gilmore City, and Mrs. Mary Rosonke, Carroll; three brothers, Wendy, Lake City; Frank, Carroll, and Ted, Carroll.

Mrs. Reiling died in December,1948. Two children died in infancy.

Mr. Reiling. was born March 16, 1889, in Carroll county. He moved from Mt. Carmel to Coon Raplda in 1917.

Sheriff Al Thorup, who investigated the accident, said that Mr. Reiling was riding with his son, Joe, in a small truck. The son stopped the truck and Mr. Reiling got out on the right side and walked around into the path of the Smith auto. The two Reilings were doing repair work on telephone lines.

A coroner's jury, called by Dr. J. Lawrence Cochran, Carroll county coroner, ruled the death an accident at an inquest yesterday. Members of the jury were J. A. Newcomm, Carl Stiller and Boyd Davis.
