Died at Carrollton, April 20, Mrs. Annie McCurdy, of heart failure; aged 65 years, 6 months and 27 days. She was born in Chester county, Penn., in 1833, removed to Juniati county, Penn., in 1848 and was married April 25, 1861, to Lafayette McCurdy. Her maiden name was Marshman. She came to this county in 1865 and has lived here until her death. She was quite well known throughout this county as being one of the early settlers. Her husband, L. McCurdy, was prominent as a county official about 30 years ago. She leaves five children, Parson McCurdy, of St. John, Washington, A. B. and Wm. H. of this county and Mrs. H. C. Raybuck and Mrs. Arthur King. She joined the Presbyterian church in 1848 and continued in that connection until about 10 years ago she joined the U. B. church in Carrollton. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Rolley, afterward the remains were taken to the Hill cemetery for interment. Another of this county's old landmarks has passed away leaving a prominent place in family and other circles vacant, only to be remembered by what she has done.
April 23.
