The death of Mrs. Isaac Harris occurred at her home Sunday evening, April 16th. She has been ailing for some time, and was a sufferer from erysipelas, from which she died. For several weeks she lay in an almost helpless condition, and few months back seemed to realize that her days were few. She and Mr. Harris came to Iowa in 1857, and with the other old settlers went through the usual hardships attendant upon pioneer life, but through industry the two gained a handsome competence. She was known as a most excellent woman, wife and neighbor, an indulgent and ambitious mother, and her kindly hand and splendid teachings will always be remembered by her children. She was born in West Virginia in 1832 and thus died in her 59th year. Her maiden name was Lydia A. Crestsinger, Mrs. Colclo, of Carroll, being her sister and Jacob and John Crestsinger being brothers, a sister marrying Mr. N. Harris. She was the mother of six sons and one daughter -- Simon, Arista, Lyman, Lincoln, Frank, Oliver and Amanda O., the latter being the mother of Asa Smith, and dying in 1890. -- Coon Rapids Enterprise.
