Death of Mrs. Jacob Ammann

Passed Away Wednesday, August 4th After Many Years of Suffering. Death Due To Dropsy.

Henrietta Sophia Ammann, wife of Jacob Ammann, died at her home in Viola township, Sac County, Wednesday August 4th at 2 p.m., after a lingering illness of about six years. The cause of her death was dropsy and a complication of other diseases.

Mrs. Ammann was born November 21st, 1845, in Westphelen, Germany, and at the time of her death was 60 years, 8 months and 14 days old. She moved to this country with her parents and settled at Freeport, Ill. On February 4th, 1872, she was united in marriage to Jacob Ammann at Freeport, Ill., and then came to this vicinity where they continued to reside until her death.

Besides her husband she leaves five daughters and one son who are, Mrs. John Vougart, Dalton, S. D., Mrs. Charles Anderson, Ft. Dodge, Iowa; Mrs. Ella Schwitters and Mrs. Lizzie Luckhart, Wall Lake, Iowa; Mrs. Sophia Poen, Carnarvon, Iowa; and John Ammann of Carnarvon, Iowa. She also leaves 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

The funeral services were held Saturday, August 7th, at the German Presbyterian church in Wheatland township, conducted by Rev. Huendling, and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery there. -- Breda News.
