Henry Hoelter died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joe Wessling, last Sunday morning, aged 88 years, 3 months, 22 days. Deceased was born in Hegendorf, Germany, on the 2d day of February 1815. In 1857 he came with his family to America and first located at New Vienna, Dubuque county, Iowa, where he conducted a blacksmith shop for fourteen years. Then he moved to this county and located near Mt. Carmel. After the death of his wife, which occurred about fourteen years ago, he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Wessling, near Breda. He was the father of nine children, only two of which are living at the present time, Mrs. Wessling of this place and Mrs. Ehrig of Danbury. He had been in frail health for some time and his death was not a surprise to our people, although up to a short time ago he appeared to be in rugged health. The funeral occurred Tuesday and after a solemn requiem mass at the Catholic church the remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery. May he rest in peace.
