Mrs. Anna Sibbel, 67, 123 East Second Street, Carroll, died at 3 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at St. Anthony Hospital where she had been a patient since Dec. 22, 1959. She had been in failing health for the past five years.

Friends may call at the Twit Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Saturday. The Rosary will be recited at 8 and 8:45 p.m. Saturday; at 3 p.m. Sunday; at 8 p.m. Sunday by the Rosary and Altar Society of SS. Peter and Paul Church, led by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. F. H. Greteman; and again at 8:45 p.m. Sunday.

Solemn requiem high mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday at SS. Peter and Paul Church, of which Mrs. Sibbel was a member. The Rev. Alver W. Behrens, a nephew, will be celebrant of the mass. Final resting place will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Mrs. Sibbel, a lifelong resident of Carroll County, was born April 21, 1893, at Roselle, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Behrens. She attended school at Roselle. Her marriage to Henry J. Sibbel took place at Holy Angels Church, Roselle, Sept. 7, 1920, the Rev. Fr. Gehling officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Sibbel farmed 2 1/2 miles south of Roselle until they retired in 1949, coming to the present home in Carroll. Mrs. Sibbel was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society of SS. Peter and Paul parish.

Three children survive: Ray Sibbel, Route 3, Carroll; Mrs. Leonard (Marian) Golwitzer, Glidden; and Melvin Sibbel, Route 3, Carroll. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Otto Behrens and Henry Behrens, both of Carroll; and one sister, Mrs. Herman (Elizabeth) Buelt, Halbur.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1951; two daughters, Florence and Rita; two brothers, John Behrens and Joe Behrens; and one sister in infancy.
