Randy Ray Schulze

Randy Ray Schulze, 55, of Coon Rapids died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, as the result of a fire in his home north of Coon Rapids.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at the Pleasant Ridge Community church in Glidden. Pastor Brian Hodge will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at the Ohde Funeral Home in Coon Rapids.

Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery northwest of Coon Rapids.

Accompanist for the service will be John Van Horn.

Casket bearerswill be Dale Young, Tom Hoffman, Roger Hartwigson, Gary Manden-hall, Al Tigges, Terry Janssen, Dan Richardson, Don Meiners and Keith Reinhart.

A son of Henry "Bud" and Ramona (McGee) Schulze, he was born March 3, 1954, at Carroll. He grew up with his family on a farm north of Coon Rapids and attended Coon Rapids schools, graduating with the class of 1972. He attended Pleasant Ridge Community Church with his parents.

Mr. Shulze was an over-the-road truck driver and in 2002, purchased his truck. He started his own business, eventually moving to Scranton.

In June of 2007, he married Colleen Young Musfeldt at Jefferson. After their marriage, the couple moved to the Schulze home place north of Coon Rapids.

He was a member of the Harley Davidson Association and took great pride in his own Harley. He enjoyed driving his truck, fishing, playing cards and he was a great NASCAR fan.

Survivors include his wife Colleen Schulze of Coon Rapids; two children: Michael Schulze and wife Lindsey and Jessica Schulze and Ben Platt both of Glidden.; step children: Sarah and husband Ron Wiese of Des Moines and their children Parker and Zoey; Jesse Musfeldt of Manning and Alison Musfeldt of Carroll; a brother, Larry Schulze of Coon Rapids; and step brothers and sisters: Wayne Young and wife Shirley of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Bruce Young and wife Deb of Hopewell, VA., Dale Young of Westside and Beth and husband Tom Frazier of Denison.

Mr. Schulze was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Christopher.
