Mrs. Reineke, Former Resident of Carroll, Is Dead

Funeral services were held at Randolph, Neb., Monday morning for Mrs. Joe Reineke, Sr., of Randolph, sister of Anna, Ida and Andrew Straub of Carroll. Mrs. Reineke 76, died at her home Thursday noon after an illness of a few months.

The Misses Straub, Mr. Straub and Mr. and Mrs. William Reineke Sr., returned home Tuesday from Randolph after attending the rites, at which solemn requiem high mass was read.

Also attending the services from this vicinity were: Mr. and Mrs. William Koester, Mr. and Mrs. John N. Hoffamn, John B. Brincks, Matt Reineke and Mrs. Lawrence Gute of Carroll; Mrs. Henry Soppe, Halbur; John Reineke, Coon Rapids, and Louis Anthofer, Dedham, all of whom returned to their homes Monday night.

Helena Straub was born in Onawa, Ia., Dec. 19, 1876. She moved to Carroll with her parents in 1882.

She married Mr. Reineke at SS. Peter and Paul’s church here Feb. 23, 1897. They moved to a farm southeast of Randolph, where they farmed until they moved into Randolph.

Mrs. Reineke is survived by her husband and four children: Mary, Hartington, Neb.; Minnie and Joseph, Randolph, and Mrs. Victor (Helen) Kozian, Detroit, Mich.; eight grandchildren, and her sisters and brother above named.

One son, John, preceded her in death. Three sisters are also deceased: Mrs. Anton (Mary) Lange, Mrs. Fred (Barbara) Reineke and Louise Straub.
