Mrs. Lincoln Farrell of Lake City, a long-time resident of Carroll, passed away at her home in Lake Ciity at 4:00 Sunday monring, November 26, 1933, following a long illness. For the last 8 years she had been in very poor health, having been confined to her bed much of the time. She died at the age of 66 years. Ella Nora Sharp, daughter of the Rev. John F. and Amanda Sharp, was born April 25, 1867, in Johnson County, Iowa. While still a young girl, she moved with her parents to Kirkman, IA, and later to Irwin, where she was united in marriage to Lincoln Farrell on December 12, 1886. They spent the first years of their married life farming near Carrollton, Carroll and Manning, IA. In 1893 they moved to Carroll where they made their home for 10 years while Mr. Farrell was employed as a rural mamil carrier. Following his retirement in 1932, they moved to Lake City where they have since resided. During her early life Mrs. Farrell was a member of the United Brethren Church, of which her father was a minister. She later affiliated with the Church of God, and afterward the Methodist Episcopal Church of which she was a member at the time of her death. She leaves to mourn her death her bereaved husband and 8 children: Glenn, Clyde, Homer and Mrs. F.V. Hibbs of Carroll, Harry of Audubon, Merle of Lake City, Mrs. Ralph Lillard of Richards, IA, and Raymond of Hamburd, IA. She also leaves 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers: William Sharp of Lanesboro, Robert Sharp of Sutherland, NE, Arthur and Frank Sharp of Carroll, one sister Mrs Laura Callaway of Carroll. Mrs. Farrell was a very likeable woman. She had a beautiful outlook on life and possessed an even, cheerful disposition. As a friend she was loyal and sincere. Funeral services were held from the family home at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, followed by services at the Methodist Episcopal church in Carroll at 2:30. Rev. H.E. Whyte, paster of the Lake City Methodist church, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Claude R. Cook. A quintet composed of Miss Wilma Mohler, Mrs. W.J. Forrest, Mrs. R.H. Lott, Dr. E.W. Martin and E.F. Osburn sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "The City Four Square" accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Carson Summers. Burial was made in the city cemetery and pall bearers were Otto Reif of Arcadia, Al Osten, Henry Hannasch, Harry Sawyer, Al Underberg and John Andrews. All of the children were present at the rites.
