HELEN C. ZITZLSPERGER
Helen Zitzlsperger died Thursday, December 15, 2005, at Black Hawk Lifecare Center in Lake View, Iowa, at the age of 91. Helen was born on January 4, 1914, at Dedham, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Frank) Hacker.
She spent her younger years in the Dedham, Morgan, Minnesota, Manning, and Willey communities. Prior to her marriage she performed domestic work for families in the area. Helen and William Zitzlsperger were married on September 20, 1938, at St. Mary Church in Willey. The couple farmed the family farm southwest of Willey until January 1966 when they moved to their home in Carroll.
Helen's beloved Bill died in March 2000. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and 50 year member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Helen enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, sewing, playing cards, traveling, and visiting with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Ann Heires; brother, Ray (Marjorie) Hacker; sister-in-law, Julia Hacker; and nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Hacker and George Hacker and his wife, Clara; sister, Marie Hacker, in infancy; and brother-in-law, Herman Heires.
