Fred Christ Wenck was born Dec. 11, 1872, in Lockport, Illinois, the son of Christian and Mary (Rabe)Wenck. Emma Kopple man was born May 19, 1879 in Lockport, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Hannah Koppleman. Fred came to Carroll Co. with his parents in 1875. They lived on a farm in Sheridan Township in Section 20. Fred Wenck and Emma Koppleman were married March 2, 1897, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheridan Township with the Rev. A. Mueller officiating. They lived on a farm northwest of Lidderdale until 1926 when they retired and moved to Lidderdale. Fred and Emma celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on March 2, 1952. They had three children: Martha who married Herman Buse of Ulmer, Alvin who married Grace Lux of Lidderdale, and Harry who married Hulda Fricke of Lidderdale. Fred and Emma had eleven grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. They were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Emma died March 9, 1952 and Fred died Oct. 18, 1959.
