(June 5, 1951 - December 15, 2017)

JoAnne M. Marsh - age 66, of Pomeroy, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society in Manson, Iowa. JoAnne Marie Teyen was born June 5, 1951, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lawrence and Bertilla (Korwes) Teyen. JoAnne loved to "fix and mess with hair" as a child she set up her own beauty shop in the storage room of her home. She then called the neighbor ladies to come over and have their hair washed, dried and combed out. Upon graduation from Pomeroy High School in 1969, JoAnn attended cosmetology school in Sioux City. She graduated on a fall day in 1970 and began her career in Storm Lake the very next day. On August 26, 1975, JoAnne married Jerry Marsh at Elk Point, SD. The couple made their home in Jolley before settling in Pomeroy. In Pomeroy JoAnne operated her own beauty salon for many years. She also worked as a CNA and Cook at Opportunity Living in Rockwell City. Jerry passed away in 2012 and JoAnne continued to make her home in Pomeroy. JoAnne was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed trying new recipes while cooking and baking and finding bargains at Goodwill. Survivors include her children, Heath (Beth) Marsh of Sioux Falls, SD; Shawn (Stacy) Marsh of Palmer; Amanda Marsh of Pomeroy and Jeff (Carla) Marsh of Canyon City, CO; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Tillie Mathiasen of Pomeroy and a sister, Carol (Merlin) Meyer of Pomeroy.
