Kathy Jane Axman
(January 1, 1962 - June 26, 2019)Kathy J. Axman - age 57 of Pomeroy passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. Kathy Jane Sorenson was born January 1, 1962, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lester and LaVonne (Anderson) Sorenson. Kathy graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1980 and attended Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids. In 1981, Kathy married Jack Lenz in Pomeroy. She worked doing sign language for various groups and events. She later received Radiology training at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge and worked at McFarland Clinic in Rockwell City. On June 15, 2013, Kathy married Kenneth E. Axman Jr. in Carroll. The couple settled in Pomeroy. Kathy worked at Vonnahme Chiropractic Clinic in Pocahontas and most recently at Opportunity Living in Rockwell City. Kathy was a member of Our Savior United Methodist Church in Manson and the Wesley United Methodist Women. Kathy enjoyed gardening, riding motorcycles, camping, going on walks, playing cards with her family, listening to music, decorating her home and doing craft projects. Kathy devoted her life to helping and serving others. She especially loved the time she spent with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband Kenneth E. Axman Jr. of Pomeroy; children, Carie Lenz of Glidden, Westin (Paige) Lenz of Manson and Krista Lenz of Des Moines (boyfriend, Dominic Johnson of Greenfield); her grandson, Ryzin Lenz; mother, LaVonne Sorenson of Pomeroy; sisters, Brenda (Denny) Smith of Fort Dodge and Kimberly Hutchinson (fiancée, David Holder) of Pomeroy; brother, Douglas (Martha) Sorensen of Fort Dodge; father–in-law and mother-in-law, Kenny Sr. and Helen Axman of Pomeroy as well as many nieces and nephews.
