Lois Elaine Freimuth
(September 19, 1929 - September 4, 2019)

Lois E. Freimuth - age 89, of Pomeroy, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at the Accura Health Care in Pomeroy, Iowa surrounded by her children. Lois Elaine Kuhrt was born on September 19, 1929 on the family farm near Pomeroy, Iowa. She was the daughter of Walter and Lucille (Bigger) Kuhrt. Lois was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church and graduated from Pomeroy High School. She met and married Ronald S. Freimuth on March 14, 1948 at St. John Lutheran Church. Ron and Lois farmed near Rockwell City for a short time before moving to their farm west of Pomeroy. Lois worked various jobs while raising her children. Lois was active at St. John Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in their choir and teaching Sunday school. Lois was a member of the 3 M Club, Sunshine Club and Purple Hats Club. Lois thoroughly enjoyed her four grandsons and was a proud grandma while cheering them on at many events. Survivors include her children, Lori Freimuth of Pomeroy and Tim (Nancy) Freimuth of Pomeroy; four grandsons, Josh (Tiffany) Freimuth of Lytton, Tanner (fiancee, Lindsey Pietig) of Carroll, Chet (Katlyn) Freimuth of Manson and Clay Freimuth of Des Moines; 5 great-grandchildren, Tucker, Cash and Riggin Freimuth of Lytton and Betsy and Winnie Freimuth of Manson; special friend, Mike “Rocky” Kelly of Fonda; brother, Jack Kuhrt of Springerville, AZ and many nieces and nephews.
