Lynn Franklin DeWall
(March 22, 1946 - November 14, 2020)

Lynn F. DeWall - age 74, of Pomeroy, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020, at his home in Pomeroy, Iowa. Lynn Franklin DeWall was born March 22, 1946, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Otto and Lois (Breidart) DeWall. He graduated from Havelock-Plover High School in 1964. Lynn then served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967. He was stationed in Germany where he worked as a helicopter mechanic. On September 19, 1970, Lynn was united in marriage to Rita Hirsch at Farnhamville. Lynn and Rita adopted two sons, Ross in 1975 and Adam in 1984. The couple settled near Pocahontas where they farmed and raised their family. In 2001, they moved to Twin Lakes. In 2011, Lynn moved to Pomeroy and retired from farming. Lynn was a life member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church. He was a very active member of the Pocahontas American Legion. He served on the Pocahontas County Fair Board. In earlier years Lynn enjoyed attending bible camp with his family at Okoboji. He enjoyed being around people and always made sure people left him with a smile. Lynn loved farming and spending time on his farm. He especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren. Survivors include his sons, Ross DeWall of Palmer and Adam DeWall of Manson; three grandchildren, Kody Konz-Figgins, Kailee DeWall and Otto DeWall; brothers, Wayne DeWall of Havelock and David (Barb) DeWall of Pocahontas and a sister Lola (Joe) Kapaun of Hudson.
