Vernon William Seehusen
(May 9, 1934 - December 6, 2021)Vernon “Bonnie” Seehusen – age 87, of Pomeroy, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.
Vernon William Seehusen was born May 9, 1934, in Pomeroy, Iowa. He was the son of William and Lena (Behrends) Seehusen. Vernon was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pomeroy. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School through 8th grade and graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1952. Bonnie served in the U. S. Navy from 1956 to 1957. On January 19, 1958, he was united in marriage to Carol Jenean Wendt at the United Methodist Church in Manson. The couple settled on the family farm near Pomeroy, where they farmed and raised their family. In 2000, Bonnie retired and the couple moved into Pomeroy.
Bonnie was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was an avid 4-H member and fed cattle all his career. Bonnie loved being a farmer and was especially partial to his cows. Family was everything to Bonnie, it was his life, his love and his hobby. He was surrounded by some of his family on Saturday, December 4th to celebrate birthdays and Christmas. Survivors include his wife, Carol; children, Terry (Julie) Seehusen of Humboldt, Connie (Stacy) Van Blair of Omaha, NE and Mark (Leslie) Seehusen of St. Cloud, MN; 10 grandchildren; 8 great- grandchildren and sister, Janet Buenting of Antioch, CA.
