Thomas Franklin was born at Lavingsworth, Ind., Sept. 4, 1860, and passes away at his home in Rinard Sept. 4, 1934, at the age of 74 years. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Alice Campbell July 7, 1904. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Ed Nemecheck of Fort Dodge, Harold at home and Dewey of San Diego, Cal. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin moved here from Fort Dodge three years ago. He leaves to mourn his loss his faithful wife, and sons, Harold and Dewey, and daughter, Mrs. Nemecheck, three stepsons, Marshall Campbell of Rinard, Burma E. and Guy Campbell of Fort Dodge, and 11 grandchildren and a host of friends. All the children were present at the funeral except Dewey, who was unable to attend. The funeral services were held at the Rinard Christian church Thursday afternoon, Rev. Lee Fisher in charge. Pallbearers were J. C. Tullis, H. A. Hendricks, B. W. Moore, C. H. Wetter, E. F. Richey and Ivan Jamieson. A quartet consisting of John Parsons, Ed Joes, Mrs. Earl Wells and Mrs. Ed Moore sang “Rock of Ages,” “In the Garden” and “When Jesus Comes” with Mrs. Joe Johnson at the piano. Interment was made in the Cedar Cemetery east of town. Those attending the funeral from out-of-town were: Mr. and Mrs. Ed Nemecheck and family, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Campbell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Burma E. Campbell and family, Adj. Katherine Davis and Capt. Ella Stacy, Salvation Army officers of Fort Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shyers, Mrs. Emma Otto, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Talor, Mrs. Addie Colingworth and daughter, Phyliss Ann, Miss Talor, Joe Nemecheck and daughter, Selma, Mrs. Eva Buttrick and daughter, Margaret, and Mr. Ferring, all of Fort Dodge.
