Amanda Bertha Frances Kloxin was born Aug. 27, 1874 in Detroit, Mich. At the age of 9 years she came with her parents to Fonda, Ia., where she grew to womanhood and Nov. 30, 1893 was united in marriage to Edward E. Wikert of Fonda. To this union three sons and two daughters were born. One son, Vernon F. preceded his mother in death on Aug. 30, 1921 at the age of 26 years. The Wikert family lived in and near Pomeroy until 1919, when they moved to Sioux Falls, S. D., where they have since resided. Mrs. Wikert suffered from cancer for several years, this causing her death. She is survived by her husband, E. E. Wikert, two sons, Lewis W. of Sioux Falls, S. D. and Roland A. of Sioux Center, Ia., two daughters, Ardyce of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Madge Hathaway of Ridgewood, N. J., six grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Emaline Jensen of Dallas Center, Mrs. Nellie Frost of Sioux Falls, S. D., Mrs. Anita Parnell of Kirksville, Mo., and Mrs. Lyla Vining of Pocahontas, three brothers, Calvin Kloxin of Sioux Falls, S. D., Frank of Pinehurst, Wash., and Will of Pawnee, Okla. One sister, Ida Marple died in 1929. Pallbearers were G. B. Peterson, John E. Drommer, M. Peterson, S. J. Culver, C. L. Drommer and R. C. Berry.
