Ethel Jenks, daughter of Martin and Rowena Jenks, was born at Albany, Ill., Jan. 27, 1870, and died at the Carroll hospital Dec. 17, 1937, at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 20 days. She received her education in the vicinity of her birthplace, later graduating from the business college at Clinton, Ia. She taught in the rural schools of Nebraska for two years and near Lohrville for several years. She became a loyal member of the Baptist Church of Lohrville in 1893, remaining active in its work until it closed some years ago. She was married to Howard McDonald on June 11, 1895, at Lohrville. For 42 years they have made their home in or near Lohrville. Surviving are her husband and two children, Irving McDonald of Lohrville and Mrs. Merna Langbehn of Gary, Ind.; two grandchildren, Ronald and Richard Langbehn; a sister, Mrs. Creech of Chicago; a brother, Willard Jenks of Sterling, Colo., and many nieces and nephews.
