Nicholas D. Holtapp, age 29, passed away on September 23, 2012, near Pomeroy. Nicholas Darrel Holtapp was born on May 30, 1983, at Lake City. He was the son of Jay and Rhonda Holtapp. Nick grew up in the Pomeroy area surrounded by loving family and resided there until his departure to heaven. Nick was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Pomeroy. He attended Pomeroy-Palmer Community School, graduating in 2001. He attended WyoTech in Laramie, WY with a degree in Body and Collision Management. Nick married Maddie Kondrath, the love of his life, on June 2, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church. Nick was a beautiful soul known for his quick grin and a twinkle in his eyes that warmed everyone's hearts. Nick's passions were Maddie, his 1972 SS Chevelle, hanging in the shop with his brother, Heath, working side-by-side with his dad, Jay, enjoying quality time with his mother, Rhonda at the casino and spending time with his dog, Pepper. Survivors include his wife: Maddie; parents: Jay Holtapp (Vickie Hodges) of Pomeroy and Rhonda Holtapp (Dan Roese) of Jolley; brother: Heath (Emily) Holtapp of Pomeroy; step-brothers: Travis (Jenni) and children Tate and Brooklynn Hodges of Fort Dodge, Matthew Hodges and Brandon Hodges, Pomeroy; grandparents, Harold and Pat Holtapp of Pocahontas and Donna Holtorf of Pomeroy, father and mother-in-law, Jeff and Ginger Kondrath of Twin Lakes; brother-in-law, Mitch Kondrath (Ashley) of Cedar Rapids and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. Welcoming Nick will be his maternal grandfather, Darrel Holtorf; uncle, Dale Holtapp; cousin, Anne (Holtorf) Birt and his great grandparents.
