Richard Henry Pedersen
(March 31, 1924 - August 23, 2009)

Richard Pedersen, age 85, passed away on August 23, 2009, at Pomeroy, Iowa. Richard Henry Pedersen was born on March 31, 1924, at Fremont, NE. He was the son of Peder and Violet (Yager) Pedersen. Richard graduated from Richmond High School and attended Drake University. During World War II, he served in the US Army and landed on Omaha Beach. After his discharge, Richard worked at Firestone in Des Moines as a chemical engineer. After his retirement in the late 1970's, Richard collected antiques full time. He was an avid traveler and was around the world twice. Survivors include his daughter: Pauline (LeRoy) Schultz of Pomeroy; grandchildren: Melinda (Scott) Meyer of Belmont and Doug (Theresa) Schultz of Lytton; great-grandchildren: Justin, Jesica, Jackee, Jordan and Jennah of Belmond and Jacob and Madison of Lytton and one sister, Arlene Maynard of Des Moines.
