(January 9, 1966 - June 21, 2023)

Lisa Jolene Batz, age 57 of Lake City, Iowa, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 21st, 2023 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa. Lisa was born January 9th, 1966 to parents Ken and Jeanne Batz in Keokuk, Iowa. She grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated from Valley High School in 1984. Lisa continued her education, earning an associate's degree in business administration. While living in Des Moines, Lisa worked as Administrative Assistant for Embassy Suites and Holiday Inn and Suites. She later moved to Lake City, Iowa where she became Assistant to the City Administrator. Lisa loved the town of Lake City and became very involved. She volunteered for the Lake City Betterment events and later became a Board Member. Her involvement included recording city council meetings, helping the people of Lake City, and becoming a friend to those she talked to and helped. Lisa was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with family. She loved to read the classics, bake cookies, listen to music, and spend time doing puzzles and crafts. She also loved fishing, road trips, and camping. Most of all, Lisa cherished the time spent with her loved ones. She will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory are her Fiancé, Bryan Hatch of Lake City, Iowa, children Lyndsey Batz (Brendon Geary) and Mackenzie Bader (DJ Mejia), grandchild Roman Geary, brother Michael Batz (Dorothy Gellert), aunt Jolene Bauman Wilder and many cousins, extended family, and friends. Lisa was preceded in death by her husband, Bret Bader, and her parents Ken and Jeanne Batz. Visitation will be held at Lampe Funeral Home on Saturday, July 8th from 9-11 am. Service will be held from 11-12 pm and a get-together for family and friends will be held afterward at the Lake City Country Club from 1-5 pm for all to attend.
