Coral D. Jaeschke – age 88, of Pomeroy, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at her home in Pomeroy, Iowa. Coral Dawn Lauver was born on June 2, 1935, near Lohrville, Iowa. She was the daughter of Chalmer and June (Rose) Lauver. She attended Lohrville High School. On June 7, 1953, Coral was united in marriage to Carl Jaeschke in Lohrville, Iowa. The couple lived near Lohrville for several years. In 1957, they moved to Fort Dodge before moving to Manson in 1970. In 1985, Coral moved to Pomeroy. While Coral was a homemaker for the majority of her life, she later worked in the dietary department at the Pomeroy Care Center and as an aid at Opportunity Living near Lake City. Coral attended the Church of Christ in Rockwell City. She enjoyed garage sales, reading and photos of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Coral’s children will remember her as remarkably resilient and an eternal optimist. Through difficult times, she prevailed and inspired her children and grandchildren to be successful. They could always count on her to be the happiest person at their celebrations and to tell them how proud she was of them. Coral loved everyone and was a joy to be around. Her family will miss here dearly but are confident she will always be smiling down from heaven. Survivors include her children, Barbara (Kim) Kolesar of Lehigh, Leisa (Jerry) Bailey of Vermillion, SD, Ron Jaeschke of Somers, Colleen Petersen of Humboldt and Alan Jaeschke of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Jeff Kolesar, Stephanie Kolesar, Michael Stein, Gerri Lynn (Josh) Lenth, Katie (Collin) Brouwer, Derek Jaeschke, Erica Jaeschke, Jessica Kunz, Joseph Kunz, Jacob Harrington, Anthony (Brandi) Harrington; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Marie Jochims; and special friend, Kenny Gamble.
