Lydia Collicott
(March 31, 1885 – December 19, 1938)

Obituary – Mrs. James C. Collicott
Lake City – Lydia McPherson, daughter of Alexander and Jessie McPherson, was born Mar. 31, 1885, and passed away Dec. 19, 1938. She had reached the age of 53 years, 8 months and 18 days. At an early age she came with her parents to Lake City from a farm northwest of town. She lived the remainder of her life here. She attended school in Lake City and was engaged in the millinery business with her twin sister, Lillian. She was married Jan. 1, 1914 to James Collicott. Their marriage lacked only 12 days of reaching the 25 year mark. Mrs. Collicott was taken into the fellowship of the Presbyterian church in 1896. It was this church, the same one which her father and mother had served so faithfully, that engaged a great deal of her time and thought until her death. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Lodge. In October 1937 Mrs. Collicott became ill with arthritis. Other conditions complicated her illness and from May of this year she had to remain in bed constantly. Two sisters preceded her in death. She leaves her husband, a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Murdock of Long Beach, Cal., and two brothers, Alexander of Los Angeles, Cal., and Thomas J. of Herrington, Kan. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church Thursday afternoon, with the Rev. Gaylord M. Couchman officiating. Interment was in Lake City Cemetery.
