Mrs. Frank Swanson Dies In Des Moines
Mrs. Frank A. Swanson, 90 died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, Jan. 3, at the Karen Acres Nursing Home in Des Moines. Funeral rites will be Saturday, Jan 6, at 2:00 p.m. in Mission Covenant Church in Pomeroy, the Rev. Quentin Larson officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery here. Survivors include two sons, Harry M. of Palmer and Kermit D. of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Jacob Scheible of Des Moines, and Mrs. Wilbur Shafer of Eugene, Oregon; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Swanson was born in Colfax Township, Pocahontas County. She was married to Frank Swanson in 1898 and they lived in the Fonda – Pomeroy vicinity for 59 years. Five years ago she moved to Des Moines and has been a resident of the nursing home for several weeks.
