Editor Easton Dies at Lohrville
Cecil M. Easton, 39, editor and publisher of the Lohrville Enterprise, died at his home there last Sunday afternoon of heart disease following an illness with influenza. Mr. Easton went to Lohrville in 1919 from Sioux City, where he had been employed on the Journal and purchased a half interest in the Enterprise from J. C. Ashton, who with W. F. Safely, owned and edited the paper. At the time of Mr. Safely’s death in 1921, Mr. Easton purchased his interest from Mrs. Safely. Mr. Easton was a linotype operator on the Fort Dodge Messenger for several years. He is survived by his widow and two daughters, Eleanor, 12, and Avis, 10, his mother, Mrs. Harriet Easton of Lake City, and two brothers, Ernest, Cedar Rapids, and Charles, Des Moines, Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church in Lohrville, and burial was a Rose Hill cemetery at Manson
